Admission Process
The online application process requires the candidates to complete both the GMP and the partner school forms (to be filled only for Brandeis International Business School, Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Robert H Smith School of Business and Stevens School of Business).
In certain cases, the application forms are time-consuming as it can include psychometric questions, video interviews, letter of recommendations, and so on. The candidates are not required to pay any additional fees for submitting the application forms to the partner school’s portal, if they are applying through SPIMR’s GMP programme. After both the schools go through the applications, the candidate is invited for interviews, if found eligible.
At this level the initial scrutiny takes place. Interviews are always held at SPJIMR Mumbai. During the interviews, representatives from all the partner schools are present. Interviews are conducted by SPJIMR and the partner schools, simultaneously. The schools jointly decide on the selection of candidates for the programme. When an offer is made the candidate will have complete clarity on the track he or she has been accepted for, after completion of GMP. Accordingly, every candidate is connected to an alumnus or current batch student of the school where he or she will be eventually joining, after transfer to credits.
Disclaimer:
Admission to the Global Management Programme (GMP) programme at S. P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) is strictly based on merit. We do not have any management quota. The assessment of an applicant is on the basis of his/her profile, meeting the qualifying scores in either GRE/GMAT/CAT/XAT and the interview process.
SPJIMR communicates directly with all the shortlisted candidates. Under no circumstances will SPJIMR appoint an intermediary (whether an individual or organisation) to approach any candidate with claims of confirmed admission, for a fee or otherwise. In case you or your parents receive offers from intermediaries, we recommend that you do not get involved in such transactions.

January Admission Cycle
Until June 2019, GMP had only one intake, a year. From the year 2020, there will be two intakes. For the January intake, there will be four schools – these are all the US schools with whom we partner. Our partners are:
Business School | University |
Brandeis University, Boston
University of Maryland, College Park
Stevens Institute of Technology
EBS Universitat , Oestrich-Winkel |
Programmes offered by GMP in collaboration with the US Schools are STEM-designated. This gives 3 years of OPT to students after graduation. So, the time lines for these schools are as follows:
- GMP: Jan - Jun
- Sem I in US Jul/Aug
- Sem II, ends In May
- Internship from May/Jun
- Sem lll completion depends on the partner school and the specialisation chosen
As the internship cycles start around May/June every year, it aligns well with the January intake of GMP, the previous year. This also goes well with the STEM requirement of studying for at least two semesters in US, full time, without which a student is not eligible to take up Internships in US.
June Admission Cycle
Until June 2019, GMP had only one intake, a year. From the year 2020, there will be two intakes. The options open for the June intake, after completion on GMP are:
Business School | University |
Brandeis University, Boston
Université Catholique de Lille, Lille/Paris
EBS Universität, Oestrich-Winkel
Nyenrode Business Universiteit, Amsterdam/Breukelen |
The June intake is mostly for the European B-Schools. It includes two programmes offered by Brandeis International Business School. These programmes require participants to complete 3 semesters in the US instead of two. Hence, after completion, participants would graduate along with others who joined the GMP in the previous January intake. These are MAief and MBA (BA).
The other programs offered by the European schools vary anywhere between 6 months to 18 months. Hence, participants graduate at different points in time in Europe unlike their US counterparts.
- GMP: Jun - Dec
- Sem I (US) from Jan
- Sem II & III, ends in May
- Internship from May/Jun
There is no specific internship cycle in Europe, like in US. So, internship opportunities are available throughout the year. However, local language is an important element of getting through these internships. The partner schools along with support from alumni actively help GMP participants to seek internships and jobs.
