Faculty

A rich and lively student-teacher interaction is at the heart of SPJIMR's success. Our faculty members are known to be great teachers, who can bring alive the subject, encourage critical thinking and offer a wider, holistic perspective that is critical in today's complex business environment.

Our faculty members are drawn from academia, industry, government sector and non-profits. Collectively, they bring in a wide range of experience in building and delivering knowledge and skills to prepare participants for leadership roles.

The teaching-learning process at SPJIMR is vastly enriched by a series of non-classroom initiatives through which our faculty help build among participants the right attitudes to enable them lead with purpose, meaning and with an idea of service to society.

The average experience of the core faculty is over 18 years, with several who have come to academics after years of experience as practitioners. In addition, we have around 20 adjunct faculty and several more visiting faculty who engage with participants of various courses.

About

Dr Vidyut Lata Dhir is a Professor of Organizational Behaviour & Leadership and Group Head for Design Thinking at SPJIMR. She holds a PhD from SNDT university with her research focus on Organizational Commitment and Citizenship Behaviour. She holds an M.Phil. from Mumbai university and a master’s in psychology from Panjab University. With over 3 decades of experience, she has taught at top B Schools in India and Germany. Her 20+ years of corporate training and consulting includes designing and delivery of Management Development programs on Leadership and Building High Performing Teams. She is passionate about Women Leadership and recently directed an 18-month Women Leadership program co-created with Mahindra and Mahindra experts which won them the UNGCNI Award for Best Innovative Practices for successfully implementing a first of its kind Women Leaders Program.

 

She has spearheaded the design & development of Personal Growth Lab - an innovative pedagogic innovation to teach Organizational Behaviour through experiential learning. She was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Scholarship (2014) by the European Union for Interdisciplinary Bridges for Indo-European studies. As a Licensed psychologist, she pioneered Vishwas - a Centre for nurturing psychological safe spaces and is a Co-Founder at Nest, a start-up dedicated to mental well-being. She has dedicated her efforts in guiding, mentoring, coaching & counselling, decoding life stories and impacted lives meaningfully across countries, academic programs, industries & sectors. She is a panellist at international conferences and is also an author. Her research interests include Organisational Commitment, Leadership, Design Thinking, and Innovative Pedagogy. Her research articles have been published in peer reviewed journals.

Dr. Vidyut Lata Dhir, a gold medalist has 29 years of teaching experience in Organizational Behaviour, HRM & Leadership.

She has been instrumental in design & development of Personal Growth Lab, an innovative pedagogy to teach Organizational Behavior in SPJIMR.

Dr. Lata is also recognized as a competent behavioural consultant & leadership trainer for some of best multi-national organizations like Great Eastern Shipping, ICICI Bank, ICICI Select, ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, Eureka Forbes, IRS, GTL, KPMG, Johnson & Johnson, L&T, Kodak, UTI Bank, Mahindra Women Leadership Programme, Total, TATA Edge, Asian PPG. She has also conucted workshops on Case Writing & Participant Centered Learning for Harvard Business School. In addition, she has conducted Leadership beyond Boundaries & Leadership Essentials for Centre of Creative Leadership (CLL)

Dr. Dhir, beyond the requirement of a job role has also mentored and counselled students, resulting in contribution to success of many satisfied alumni, who still stay in touch.
