R Jayaraman is a faculty in Operations & Supply Chain Management at SPJIMR. He holds a dual master’s degree – in Applied Science from University of British Columbia, Canada and in Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He has passionately followed research interests in Operations Management, Inventory Management, Corporate Social Responsibility, Organisational Transformation and Leadership, and Project Management.
He has made significant intellectual contributions to renowned journals, publications, and conference presentations. In his career spanning 4 decades, he held senior leadership roles as head for technology, business excellence and quality, with renowned conglomerates in India, before joining academics in 2011. His meritorious efforts have been recognised through various accomplishments and awards, including Best Changemaker award in the Indian telecom Industry, the Best Paper award for scholarly research, and Best Citizen award for professional contributions.
In April 2021, he received the AIM Golden ‘Best Professor – Operations Management (National)’ award. In June 2021, he was nominated for the ‘Global India Excellence Achievement’ award. He is a member of the Editorial Advisory Boards of Industrial Products Finder, Emerald Publishing, and the Editorial Board of Prabandhan. He is currently the head of Capstone Projects at SPJIMR.
