SPandan 2021

December 11, 2021

SPJIMR’s annual alumni meet, SPandan was held virtually on Saturday, 11th December 2021. The event saw alumni registered from across the globe (45 cities and 10 countries), from across batches (founding batch of 1983 to the recent graduates of 2021) and from 9 programmes (full time and modular).

On the 40th anniversary of the Institute, the event hosted the 10th Alumni Awards and introduced a new category, i.e. the Alumni Service Award that will recognise and celebrate alumni for excellence in volunteering for SPJIMR and the alumni community.

Prof. Ratika Gore, Head – Alumni Relations, updated the alumni on ARO’s two areas of focus; 1) how to involve more alumni in driving the community engagement and 2) how to make the network visible and accessible to all. She spoke about new initiatives like Alumni Advisory Council, city-council global network, POC group, interest groups, mentorship programmes and on the employment of the alumni portal as an engagement and communication tool.

Dr. Varun Nagaraj, Dean, SPJIMR mentioned that the institute will increase its relevance in the lifecycle of the alumni and their success. He talked about the strength in the values of SPJIMR and challenged the alumni to think of more ways to impact a world that is seeing profound changes at every level. He introduced four words, ‘advancing wise innovations at scale’ and then further defined these words and explained why these must be seen as aspirations by the extended SPJIMR community.

Apart from the announcements of winners in the 6 categories of awards and faculty messages, there were also spectacular performances by B-Major, SPin and Tasveer clubs
