At SPJIMR- PGPM, Student committees are formed to encourage the concept of "Learning by Doing". In these committees, the participants may freely experiment with ideas and learn to work effectively to develop:
- 'Team skills' and 'collaboration' without compromising on individual interests.
- Learn human relations, 'interpersonal skills' and 'self management' in order to ‘get things done’ in an organisation.
- Learn the biggest tool for success - 'influencing without power'. The participants will work with their peer group over whom they have no power or authority and 'get work done'.
The Academics Committee
Assisting faculty with modifications and improvements to teaching content and pedagogy. Suggesting subjects/ topics/ case studies for betterment of the learning process in all the specialisations.
The Alumni Relations Committee
Creating and maintaining the crucial link between past and present PGPM participants and the institute. Networking with the Alumni for ColPal Sessions & for mentoring sessions for the batch. Reaching out to the Alumni to stay in touch with the programme by organising events to get them back to the Institute.
The Industry Integration Committee
The main objective of this committee is to engage key industry professionals and organisations with the PGPM programme through guest lectures, mentoring, projects and other activities - to stay current with upcoming trends and disruptions in the corporate world.
Guest lectures are to be arranged keeping the following in mind: Knowledge for the participants, Placement opportunities, Brand Building. Before getting the guest on board, the committee should work on the background of the lecturers, learnings expected from the session, objective of having such persons as lecturers / mentors, scope for placements, brand building etc.
Complete involvement in organising the Annual Industry Academia meet – Samavesh, including inviting Speakers, finalising the theme, discussion topics, event arrangements and sending invites.
The Placements Committee
The responsibility of the Placement committee is two-fold–
Industry / Company related activities include: Identifying Companies, roles/ domains to invite for placements. Catalyse and drive the entire placement cycle.
Internal stakeholders related activities include: Being a good team member of the batch, understanding the aspirations of the participants and consistently coordinating & managing their expectations with respect to that of the current industry trends.
The Marketing and Communications Committee
Managing all internal and external communications and building Brand PGPM.
The Marketing and Communications Committee stands apart from the other committees because its prime responsibility is to uphold “Brand SPJIMR” & build “Brand PGPM”. The main task is to engage with all stakeholders- internal (students, faculty) and external (alumni, recruiters, industry) in creating a synergy and in making the brand presence felt. The Committee should leverage social media marketing to integrate communication about the Institute, the PGPM programme and achievement by the participants and present it to the stakeholders. Creativity, communication skills, innovation, social media engagement, ability to create news besides ‘Passion’ is one of the main attributes needed for this committee.
|Participant's board||The participant board is a council elected by the students of the PGPM. The board, consisting of five elected students, aims to form a bridge between the programme and the students. The primary purpose of the board is to enrich the overall experience of the batch, with a vision to create an amicable and transparent atmosphere wherein the overall experience of all stakeholders is enhanced.|
