Why Autumn and not Summer?
SPJIMR pedagogy believes in being differentiated to ensure the holistic development of its students. The same is reflected in the internship structure followed. SPJIMR – PGDM students intern with top companies at the end of the third semester (Autumn/ Fall) and not at the end of the first year (Summer).
Why Autumn and not Summer?
- The first-year curriculum of business studies trains students on fundamental courses of management, while a project in a company requires specialised knowledge of advanced courses
- The second year curriculum mainly focuses on preparing the students with specialised knowledge in the areas of finance, marketing, operations & supply chain and information management, enabling them to apply the learnings in addressing complex business problems.
- The autumn project backed by advanced knowledge of the chosen specialisation helps the students generate greater placement opportunities. The number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) and pre-placement interviews (PPIs) as an outcome of the autumn internship have consistently been more than 40 % over the years.
