The SPJIMR Abhyudaya team organised an overnight camp for their Sitaras at Bhavan’s Nature and Adventure Centre (BNAC) to help them build a stronger connection with nature and the environment. BNAC aims to instil awareness, love, and responsibility towards biodiversity and sustainable living.
The two-day overnight camp was a vibrant, enriching experience for our 56 Sitaras. It began with a nature trail followed by adventurous activities like monkey crawling, tree climbing, and the hoolock hanger. Sessions on survival skills, environmental awareness, and first aid provided both practical and educational value. Sitaras also engaged in map reading, team-building games, archery, rifle shooting, and an adventurous night trail, concluding the day with a movie screening under the stars.
On Day 2, they participated in animal care activities, rock climbing, and free-fall experiences and performed creative skits on social and environmental themes. The camp concluded with certificate distribution and heartfelt goodbyes. The camp beautifully blended learning with adventure, boosting confidence, nurturing teamwork, and a deeper bond with nature.
Rohan Mishraa, an Abhyudaya Sitara alum now working at BNAC, coordinated the camp meticulously driven by the sentiment to give back to our Abhyudaya community. Along with Abhyudaya facilitators Ajay Zende, Shenaaz Ramji, and Alka Mhatre, Rohan planned the sessions to support meaningful learning for the Sitaras. The team guided and supported the participants throughout the camp.
