India today provides opportunities for starting a wide variety of businesses. An expanding globally connected economy is fuelling the need for better products and services. More executives, professionals and nextGen family business members have promising business ideas for creating new ventures, than ever before. It may help if you are a nexGen family business member, but it no longer hinders stand-alone entrepreneurs from emerging - giving up their jobs to start their own venture. Today, no job offers lifetime security just as no business is a lifelong risk. Employees and entrepreneurs face setbacks and successes and switch roles too during their careers. The environment is favourable for entrepreneurship.
The Start Your Business (SYB) program serves the needs of potential entrepreneurs who have a business idea that they are keen to convert into a sustainable business. This Program will assist them in acquiring the knowledge, skills, and attitude for realizing their dream of becoming a successful entrepreneur. In the words of Prof Suresh Rao, SYB Program

Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR), "we believe there
is an unmet need among potential entrepreneurs for learning how to start
and grow a business and the program would serve that need".
Twenty participants with a variety of ideas have joined the program with keenness to convert their idea in to a profitable, scalable venture. Prof. S D Kshirsagar, Faculty, SPJIMR highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and entrepreneurs in the business and economy and shared future plans by the center for Entrepreneurship, SPJIMR to help start-up entrepreneurs. Prof. M S Rao, Course Coordinator for the SYB program assured participants the best of "entrepreneurial ecosystem" developed by the center. Whom is the program for? The Program is aimed at working executives, practicing professionals, nextGen family business members, graduates with business ideas, ex-servicemen and even qualified homemakers -- who are keen to start their own venture. Entrepreneurs in the early stages of setting up their venture will also find this program very useful. The SYB program can also help corporate executives indentified for setting up new ventures.
