The Program serves potential entrepreneurs with or without a business
idea, keen to launch a sustainable business venture.
2. How will this program help me? This program will help you to test potential of your business idea and translate it in to a concrete business plan for your venture. The purpose of the program is to enable you to create a sustainable business that generates profitable growth
3. What are the eligibility criteria for the program? If you are a graduate and interested in becoming an entrepreneur, with or without a business idea, you are eligible to apply for the program
4. Where is the program being conducted? The SYB-CLP is conducted at SPJIMR Campus, Mumbai
5. Would study material be provided for SYB program? Yes, every module has study material either as supporting material, reference material, or additional readings, apart from the class exercises and take home presentations from the faculty
6. Aren’t the program durations too less to meet the program objectives? Our experience of 4 years indicates this is the optimal duration. Participants too, generally feel so.

8. What is the last date for application? We accept APPLICATIONS ON A CONTINUOUS BASIS; hence there are no last days for applying to any of the SYB programs. We however, advice you to apply at the earliest considering the limited seats available for the program
9. What is the selection procedure? The selection is made on the basis of information provided in the application form. We may contact you for more information if required.
10. What is the typical batch profile? The age group of participants is from 20 to 40 years. The participants are from diverse backgrounds like IT professionals, sales and marketing professionals, cosmetologist, graphologist, gemologists, fashion designing, consultants, analysts, proprietors and freshers as well. There are quite a few from family businesses as well.
11. How many participants have launched their ventures? More than 30 participants from SYB-CLP have launched their ventures. To know about some of them click here.
12. Do you provide funding/incubation? We provide you access to Venture Capitalists, investors and others from the entrepreneurial ecosystem. You also get an opportunity to present your business plan to a distinguished panel of experts/investors.
13. What if I already have started my venture? The program helps the start up business too. In running your own business, you must have felt the lack of management skills e.g. in cash flow, marketing, etc. that have come in the way of your achieving profitable growth. This Program provides you the knowledge, skills and attitude for managing a growing Start-up, the mentoring to handle real life problems, and access to the entrepreneurial network
14. How is this program different than the Family Managed Business Program? The Family Managed Program offered by the institute is 18 month program focusing the existing family managed business. The focus for the SYB program is on first generation entrepreneur, aspiring to start his/her own venture.
15. Will I have to appear for the examinations? The course emphasis is on practical applications of the concepts discussed in class. We expect the participants to utilize them to get closer to launch of their venture.
You will be awarded a certificate of participation after meeting the minimum attendance criteria of 80%.
17. Will I be awarded alumni status? What would be the benefits of being an alumnus? You will be alumnus for the SYB Program. As an alumnus you will get an opportunity to attend few SYB sessions conducted on SPJIMR campus. You will need to send an email request to cera2@spjimr.org for the same.
18. Can I avail of the institute infrastructure and facilities? You can avail of the institute infrastructure during the course of the program
19. What is the kind of faculty for this program? The faculty for this program is a mix of SPJIMR faculty and faculty experts drawn from the industry.
20. Can you provide references of participants who have attended this program? The references will be provided on request. Please write to to cera2@spjimr.org
21. Do I get a placement at the end of the program? Since the course is all about starting your own business, there is no question of a placement. The course, however, provides exposure to professionals like entrepreneurs, VCs, bankers and other professionals.

23. Are the fees refunded in case if I decide to drop out of the program? We do not have a refund policy. However, if the participants decide to drop out because of valid reason, the institute may decide to accommodate him/her in the next batches. The decision for the same depends on availability of seat and the final decision will rest with the institute management.
