In the year 2000, S.P.Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR), a Registered Education Provider (R.E.P) of Project Management Institute (PMI)^® - USA, offered for the first time a 5-day programme on "Project Management Professional (PMP)^® Certification Exam Preparatory program” based on the Project Management Institute, A Guide to the Project Management Body Of Knowledge, (PMBOK^® Guide) – Fourth Edition, Project Management Institute, Inc., 2008 which is of 35 learning hours at SPJIMR to appear for the PMP^® certification.

SPJIMR had made the first foray in Project Management field in 2000. Since then, it has made its mark in initiating India Inc. into "management by projects".
