Non-Classroom Learning

A proactive and formally planned programme for developing attitudes and skills - completing the troika of management capability development - has been firmly institutionalized within SPJIMR's non-classroom curriculum through a variety of vehicles.

Domains Focus Groups

Participants are exposed to industry domains such as Banking, IT enabled services, Retail, Telecom, Manufacturing and Healthcare, so that they gain knowledge & insight of a particular business vertical and are able to know about the issues concerning the domain , the regulations prevalent and nature of optimum business solution required. This helps the participants to understand the business scenario, the processes specific to industry verticals and the existing competition.

Assessment & Development of Managerial Aptitude and Potential (ADMAP)

The philosophy of curriculum at SPJIMR encourages spirit of co-operation over that of competition. Assessment & Development of Managerial Potential (ADMAP), a unique initiative of SPJIMR, is an experiment in non classroom learning. Participants work in diverse teams (committees) performing varied tasks in tandem with the Institute administration. Precious learning in team building and peaceful coexistence are imbibed in the course of the ADMAP program. This learning is reinforced with a number of workshops conducted by eminent professionals. ADMAP, with its emphasis on "Learning by doing" provides the participants a hands-on experience in administrative work and a chance to develop and strengthen their managerial potential.

Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC)

DOCC is the social wing of the institute working on social projects and Corporate Citizenship programs. Participants undertake a social project of national relevance giving them an opportunity to acquire a balanced perspective of realities and needs of the society. The unstructured environment brings out the very best in the participants sensitizing them and leaving them with an experience that stays with them long after the B-School dust settles.

Personal Growth Lab (PG Lab)

Management taught on the hills of Lonavala. The PG Lab is one of the best examples of the effectiveness of outdoor learning. SPJIMR exposes the participants to real life situations so as to assimilate the concepts of team building and group dynamics, albeit while playing games. These activities instill team spirit, make participants appreciate differing opinions and enforce the importance of performing as a group.

Gita-Shibir Self Management Workshop

In a two day 'informal' and interactive workshop called Gita Shibir, conducted in an ashramite environment, participants discover the nature of their 'self' and understand it better with relevance to the nature of the world around them. This annual exercise is conducted with the objective of moulding the participants to become better managers.
