Can I apply offline?
The applicants must use the online method only to apply for PGP(SM)-MIT.
Does Virginia Tech offer a degree or a certificate?
Virginia Tech, USA offers a Masters Degree in Information Technology.
Does Virginia Tech faculty teach in Mumbai or only through video conferencing?
Faculty from Virginia Tech's Pamplin College of Business and Virginia
Tech's College of Engineering come to Mumbai for one week at a time to
deliver their respective courses. These contact sessions are followed
up by online instructions by them and their co-faculty at SPJIMR.
How do I get financial aid?
SPJIMR has made arrangements for educational loan facilities for PGP(SM)-MIT
participants with State Bank of India. They have indicated that if the
loan is availed from their Andheri Branch in Mumbai, the tentative interest
rate will be 10% p.a. up to the loan amount of Rs. 4 lacs and 10.25% thereafter.
The participants can send the form along with the required papers to SBI's
Andheri Branch. The papers will be processed by them and if the loan is
approved, the student will have to come personally to the branch to sign
papers to get the disbursement.
There is however, no restriction on availing loans from any other bank
depending on the convenience of the student.
Is it acceptable to send in copies of awards, papers or letters of recommendation
to supplement my application?
No. You are recommended to get all these documents at the time of interview.

Can I pay the fees in instalments?
Yes. Both the SPJIMR and VT fees are to be paid in two instalments.
After completion of the course, will the Masters degree be given by VT
or jointly by SPJIMR and VT? Will the degree be recognized internationally
for doing further research or pursing a PhD degree in United States?
After completion of the course the successful participants will be
eligible for a Masters degree in Information Technology from Virginia
Tech, USA and a Post Graduate Program in Systems Management from SPJIMR.
The Masters degree makes participants eligible for doing further research
(PhD) in USA or in any other country.
What kind of hostel facilities does SPJIMR provide? Is the Hostel Fee
included in the SPJIMR fee component?
SPJIMR provides 3 seater Hostel Rooms. Each student will be provided a
table, chair, cot and mattress, closed shelves and 24hrs LAN connectivity.
It is compulsory to avail of the hostel facilities provided. Yes. The
hostel fee for 2 years is included in the SPJIMR fee component.
