Why recruit at SPJIMR?

Consistent ranking as one of India's top ten B schools:

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's S. P. Jain Institute of Management and Research (SPJIMR) is rated among the top ten B-schools in India. It is the only self funded and autonomous management Institute to have consistently maintained its position in the top league of Indian B schools. Inaugurated in 1981 by the then British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher, it has moved from strength to strength due to its innovative pedagogic approach and its ability to adapt to the changing business environment. The Institute has produced one of the most acclaimed Post Graduate Programmes in the country: a result of SPJIMR's linkages with industry and state-of-the-art teaching material inspired from leading Western Business Schools like Harvard, MIT and Stanford.

Illustrious Alumni:

SPJIMR is proud of its alumni who have consistently excelled in leadership positions across various organizations in India and abroad. Some of our alumni have also chosen the entrepreneurial route in their careers and have been immensely successful in creating and building organizations as well. ADMAP:

Assessment & Development of Managerial Potential (ADMAP), a unique initiative of SPJIMR, is an experiment in non classroom learning. Participants work in diverse teams (committees) performing varied tasks in tandem with the Institute administration. Precious learning in team building and peaceful coexistence are imbibed in the course of the ADMAP program. This learning is reinforced with a no. of workshops conducted by eminent professionals. Some such workshops conducted in 2006-07 were "Theatre workshop", "In-Basket (Time Management)" and "Six Thinking Hats". ADMAP provides the participants a hands on experience in administrative work and a chance to develop and strengthen their managerial potential. This unique experience prepares participants to hit the ground running as soon as they join their respective organizations.

DOCC:

Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC) is built around SPJIMR's philosophy of value based growth and influencing management practice. The DOCC concept is created to build the managerial potential of participants while sensitizing them to Indian ethos and culture. Under the DOCC program, the participants undertake a 6 weeks social project of social relevance. This brings management education closer to reality in the Indian context. This also gives the participants an opportunity to work in an unstructured environment and acquire a balanced perspective on the needs and realities of Indian society. This unique experience churns out a world class management talent pool: participants who are proactive yet do not carry any 'chip on their shoulders'.

Unique and rigorous selection process:

SPJIMR has one of the most rigorous selection processes among Indian B-Schools. Close to 18000 applications are received for around 120 seats. Getting a 99 percentile score in CAT is just not enough; a variety of factors like consistent academic record and versatility are a must for even securing an interview call. Besides, proven track record in disjoint fields of achievement like sports, adventure, classical dance and literature are highly appreciated. The student community consists of an eclectic mix of backgrounds ranging from the armed forces, to media and medicine, making learning a holistic and exciting process.

Strong Corporate Linkages:

With the exquisite advantage of being in the commercial capital of India, SPJIMR has forged a number of strong tie ups with the who's who of Indian industry. While leading corporate like Patni Computers have partnered with SPJIMR to create specialized courses in the area of Supply Chain Management, there is constant interaction between Industry leaders and the SPJIMR community through forums like Guest Lectures, SPJIMR Supply Chain Excellence Awards, SPJIMR Marketing Impact Awards, the annual IT seminar: bhavITva and the Annual SPJIMR Leadership Summit.
