Is there is any scholarship scheme available?

The PGCDM is a programme that has emerged out of the need to provide the best quality training to practitioners with a firm commitment to the development sector. SPJIMR proposes to support such participants through academic scholarships.

What are the eligibility criteria?

Candidates applying for the PGCDM should at least be
  • Graduate (from any discipline) from a recognised University, with a minimum two years of relevant work experience in development sector / CSR sector.
  • The medium of instruction is English and the participants are expected to have basic proficiency in computers.

Can I be self-sponsored? Is company sponsorship a must?

Sponsorship does not necessarily mean that the organization has to fund your fees. It is not mandatory that the company pay the fees but at the same time you require the full support of the organization from the viewpoint of the following
  • Getting time off from company work to attend on-campus contact periods – on week at a stretch every two months for a period of 18 months.
  • Getting company information for doing Application exercises which is a vital component of the pedagogy of the program
  • Assistance in identifying a real-life issue for Project work and
  • Infrastructure support- PC, internet access, etc.
  • Having a 'Mentor' from your organisation.

When do the fees have to be paid?

Fees are to be paid in 3 installments at the start of each semester.

Is it mandatory to have a mentor? What is the role of the mentor?

Yes it is mandatory for each participant to have a ‘mentor’. A mentor should necessarily be someone from within the organisation and who is preferably senior to the participant. The role of a mentor would be as under
  • Guidance for sourcing company information required from various departments for ‘Application exercises’
  • Guidance in selecting subject for thesis/ project
  • Prima-facie comments/ assessment of ‘Application exercises’- as Acceptable, Unacceptable , Excellent
  • Interaction with SPJIMR periodically to review participant’s performance
  • Panel member along with SPJIMR faculty for assessment of project of mentee/s

How is the evaluation process? How are exams conducted?

Evaluation is a continuous process both on-campus and off-campus. On-campus evaluation covers group-work, quizzes, projects and exams. Off-campus evaluation covers assignments in the form of conceptual exercises, application exercises, chats/ e-discussions.
