E-BOOST - A workshop on Entrepreneurship by Mr. Mahesh Murthy

The inaugural workshop organized on entrepreneurship by Mr. Mahesh Murthy, an ace entrepreneur and venture capitalist was hugely successful, attracting more than 80 participants, half of whom were from other B-schools in Mumbai.

The design of the workshop was conceptualized and developed after several rounds of discussions a m o n g s t members of t h e Entrepreneurship Committee at SPJIMR and Mr. Mahesh Murthy. The event witnessed high levels of energy and participation from all the attendees.An interesting aspect of the workshop was the elevator competition where al l the participants were given business ideas and had to come up with sustainable plans for executing the same. The competition showcased students from different B-schools working with each other as opposed to against each other.

While many of the teams struggled to articulate fresh ideas for sustainable business models, others were able to add creativity to existing business models to make them more effective and robust. Eventually, clarity of thought and uniqueness of ideas separated the winners from the losers.

After the workshop, Mr. Murthy spared time out of his busy schedule to interact personally with students and answered specific queries on topics ranging from venture capital to rural marketing to creativity.

The success of the event has given tremendous impetus to the Entrepreneurship Committee to organize other modules of this workshop..
