Dandiya Night at SPJIMR

Prof. Aditi Divatia at Dandiya Night celebration.CultCom '07 and Colosseum, the respective cultural committees of the PGDM and PGDSM-MIT courses at SPJIMR, under the guidance of Dr.Uma Narain, Faculty in-charge for Integrated Cultural Activities at SPJIMR, Prof. Aditi Divatia, Faculty incharge for Colosseum and Mrs. Varsha Parab, Registrar, SPJIMR organized a dazzling Dandiya Raas on a beautiful ‘ ’ night at the Bhavan's Cultural Ground. sharad purnima.

Participants groove to the beats of DandiyaThe event brought together the entire SPJIMR family, including participants of the flagship 2 year PGDM programme, PGDSM-MIT programme, 1 year PGPM programme, faculty members and members of the administrative staff to celebrate the spirit of Navratri. The function was inaugurated by lighting of the traditional lamp by Dr. Sesha Iyer, Director of SPJIMR. Several faculty members graced the occasion with their presence- Dr. Suranjan Das, Prof. Sunil Rai, Prof. Prem Chandrani, Prof. Parimal Merchant, Prof. Lata Dhir, Prof. Renuka Kamath, Prof. Aditi Divatia, Prof. Shailaja Gogte and Ms. Vanita Bhoola. Ashim Sharma and Pratibha Ryali, participants from PGDM and PGDSM MIT respectively played hosts for the evening. With SPJIMR participants dressed in their ethnic best and swaying to the Dandiya beats of a live band, the night soon transformed into a cultural extravaganza.

Some on the spot prizes were announced for the participants. Ravindra Goel was awarded the 'Best Dressed Male' while Taru Gupta was awarded the 'Best Dressed Female.' Nilay Chandra and Shilpa Kendre won the title of 'Mr Dandiya' and 'Miss Dandiya' respectively. The best Dandiya group prize went to Aparna and group from PGDSM-MIT. Prof. Aditi Divatia, Ms. Vanita, Prof. Shailaja Gogate and Prof. Lata Dhir won the prize for the best faculty group. The event thus coloured one and all in the vibrant hues of the festive season of Navratri.
