LeadCom organizes
'Friday Leadership Series
July 6, 2007
Ms.
Jaya Row, founder of Vedanta Vision, led a session on the Vedanta aspect
of leadership. Vedanta Vision is dedicated to the promotion of Vedanta-
the Indian philosophy, seen as the oldest management school in the world.
She discussed the hierarchy of desires in a human being and stated that
there are material desires at the bottom of this pyramid which finally
converge to spiritual realization at the apex. She stressed on how indispensable
it is for a leader to follow a value-based approach. All the premises
were supported by real examples from various walks of life including business,
which not only made the interaction more interesting for the participants
but also successfully brought forth the practical aspect of spirituality
in our lives. By rendering contextual interpretations of verses from the
Bhagavad Gita and by citing relevant real life instances, Ms. Jaya Row
gave a unique insight into the concepts of Leadership along the lines
of Vasudhev Kutumbkam - humanbeings living in an integrated, interdependent
world. The interaction helped participants look at the Indian scriptures
as a treasure-trove of secrets to lead a life of success, fulfilment and
happiness.
