Alumni Meet - Batch of 1987

The alumni meet held for the batch of 1987 witnessed a healthy turnout of 29 participants which included 7 alumni based in countries like the USA, the UK, Singapore, UAE and China.

The meet was conceived by Ms. Ila Gupta and Mr. Subramanian LS , both from the batch of 1987 who played an important role in contacting the Alumni. The coordination of the event was done by the Alumni Committee under the guidance of Ms. Varsha Parab Registrar and Alumni Committee Coordinator and Prof. Sunil Rai Joint- Director, SPJIMR.

The meet commenced at 4:00 p.m. It was heartening to watch the alumni gather together and cheer for their batch mates as they walked through the institute gate, one by one. The exuberance of the alumni reached a new level with the entry of Dr. M L Shrikant Hon. Dean, SPJIMR, Prof. B Banerjee and Dr. P V Desai, former f a c u l t y members of SPJIMR who taught the batch of 1987.

The alumni then seated themselves in the SPJIMR Auditorium where they were addressed by Dr. Sesha Iyer Director, SPJIMR. This was followed by a round of felicitation for each alumnus present at the hands of Dr. Shrikant. Dr. Sesha Iyer and Prof. Sunil Rai then honored Prof. B Banerjee and Dr. P V Desai with a memento and a bouquet.

Dr. Shrikant spoke about how the alumni of SPJIMR had made the institute proud by accomplishing laurels in their respective fields.

The alumni were then taken on a short tour of the SPJIMR campus. The evening came to an end with an alumni dinner at the Senate Hall of 'The Club' .
