SANGRAHA II

It was on a pleasantly cold and windy evening on the fifth of February that a unique event made its debut at SPJIMR. The event in question was 'SANGRAHA II – A Book Fair', organised by the enterprising members of the Library Committee 2007. Over 2500 titles by were put on display in the open space outside the auditorium. This enticing sight attracted many browsers who were also drawn in by creamy piping coffee paired with delicious cookies. The desire was to create a bookstore in the open for participants, where they could peruse through their favourite titles and sample the works of other unknown authors. Seating arrangements were also made for the comfort of the participants. Along with satisfying the intellectual appetite, care was taken to cater to the palates of participants. This was done by arranging for select local eateries to offer their delicious and novel fare at reasonable rates to complement the set-up. Hot croissants, light music and the balmy weather made for a great combination with lively chats on books, movies and other sundry topics. All in all, SANGRAHA II was a wonderful initiative and the start of a unique tradition at SPJIMR.
