Graduation Ceremony 2008It was a da y creating history at SPJIMR with the maximum number of batches (at 7) graduating on the same day. 324 participants from 4 different programs officially became proud post graduates when the Director of the institute, Dr. Iyer signed the register presented to him by the academic coordinators of the 4 programs. The graduating batches were PGDBM, EMBA7, EMBA 8, EMBA 9, EMBA 10, PGPM and PGDSM - MIT. The Graduation Council 2008 was formed under the leadership of Dr. Suranjan Das, consisting of participants from the junior batches of PGDM, PGPM and PGDSM MIT, RAs of EMBA, faculty coordinators of the 4 programs and the Registrar. Mr Bhaskar Pramanik, President- India GEM, Sun Microsystems India was the chief guest for the ceremony. The EMBA partnering companies, parents and spouse of the participants and the entire SPJIMR family were invited for the ceremony.

Graduation Ceremony 2008The atmosphere was heavy with anticipation as the participants wore their black robes and hats with coloured (red, saffron, purple and blue) scarves ready to receive their graduation scrolls. The proceedings were declared open by the Director; followed by the lamp lighting, a prayer, the welcome address and an introduction of the Chief Guest. The 4 program heads presented the batch reports of their programs and the director conferred and administered the oath to the graduating batches. This was followed by the Registrar Mrs. Varsha Parab calling upon the meritious participants to collect the certificates for scholastic excellence from the chief guest. Representatives from each of the 7 batches shared the experiences of their batches and recounted nostalgic memories. Thereafter, the chief guest delivered the graduation address followed by acknowledgments delivered by Dr. Surajan Das and closure of the ceremony.

It was not the end of the celebrations for the graduating batches as they took part in the hat throwing ceremony.

 The day was a memorable one as the faculty, administration, RAs and participants of PGDM, PGPM and PGDSM-MIT came together to make it special for the graduating participants.
