PGDBM-2 Champions of Soccer

The Soccer tournament under the floodlights was organized for first time in SP's campus. The kind of reception it got from the participants will certainly make it one of the most sought after event in the coming years. The match line up was PGDBM1 versus PGDM and PGDBM2 versus PGDSM MIT in the semifinals.

PGDBM 1 defeated the PGDM with the scorecard reading 2:0 in the first match of the tournament. Shreyas and Chinmay scoring for the PGDBM1. In the second match it was all Sharath show on display. But the match was contested evenly between the two teams and by the end of the allotted time both teams were with one goal each. It was decided with the penalty shootout in the end in which PGDBM2 won by 5-4.

The finals between PGDBM1 and PGDBM2 were played in a very emotionally charged atmosphere with the entire batch reaching there to cheer up their teams. It was a keenly fought match where it tested the stamina and character of both the teams. It was PGDBM2 day as they wrapped up the match with a score of 1:0. The single goal was scored in the second half by PGDBM-2 striker Nilesh.
