Graduation ceremony of first batch of PPM

Bhavan's Centre for Inter Disciplinary Studies (BCIDS) a joint initiative of SPJIMR, Sardar Patel College of Engineering, Sardar Patel Institute of Technology and Bhavan's College of Arts, Science and Commerce hosted the graduation ceremony for the first batch of the Professional Program in Management (PPM). In a solemn ceremony, 13 budding young managers were conferred Graduation by Dr. Chandra Krishnamurthy, Vice Chancellor, S.N.D.T University and Mr. Rahul Singh, CEO & MD, E-Serve Intl Ltd.

The explosive demand of quality young managers to take up challenging assignments in the fast growing sectors of Indian economy namely Banking, Insurance, Retail, Hospitality, Healthcare, Media and IT Enabled Services necessitated offering of a comprehensive program to nurture young professionals. PPM is the creation of innovative and visionary thinking of Dr. M.L. Shrikant, Chairman Bhavan's Campus serving as a bridge between the demand of the corporate and the present education system.

Welcoming the guest and graduating participants Prof. Sunil Rai, Jt.Director, SPJIMR and Chairperson, BCIDS highlighted the promise of the PPM. He informed the gathering about the wide scale acceptance and recognition of the program by leading corporate giants in the country. To name a few he added the Times of India Group, Wipro Technologies, E-Serve International Ltd., ICICI Lombard, Dabur. The occasion was graced by Dr.S.Y.Mhaiskar, Principal, S.P.C.E, Dr. V. I. Katchi, Principal, Bhavan's College of Arts, Science and Commerce and Dr. P. P. Warnekar, Principal, SPIT.

Mr.Rahul Singh, CEO & MD, E-Serve International Ltd., who is also the alumni of SPCE 1984 batch delivering the Key Note Address congratulated the graduating students. He explained the expectations of corporates while highlighting the opportunity that presents to the youth today in wide range of businesses.

Dr. Chandra Krishnamurthy, Vice- Chancellor, S.N.D.T Women's University congratulated the pioneering PPM Batch. She remarked PPM to be most unique and innovative program of the present times, which is highly relevant to the needs of society.

The ceremony started with a solemn procession of Faculty and students, smartly clad in their gowns, that passed through the constituent Institutions before coming to the venue symbolizing the integration of Engineering, Science, Arts, Commerce and Management. The ceremony culminated with a get-together of parents and faculty.
