Delegates of Philippines visit Indian NGOs

A group of delegates representing three NGOs of Philippines (Peace and Equity foundation, Bicol center for community development, Aquinas foundation) visited India for an exposure and learning visit coordinated by the DOCC of SPJIMR. The primary objective of the trip was to understand the innovative approaches and strategies that have been unique to the various NGO programs in India and evaluate and take the learnings back home. The delegates visited NGOs in Mumbai that have done pioneering work in education, care for spastic children and youth development programs.

The delegates called the experience very rich emphasizing that they were amazed at the ability of the NGOs they visited to work so efficiently with limited means and yet with high level of capability to raise resources. Sustainability is a constant problem that they face in Philippines for their programs, and they would definitely want to come back to India to develop skills and undergo training to ensure that the programs they are involved with are sustained and enhanced with time.
