The Way Forward amidst Inflation – Panel Discussion November 4, 2009
The Economic Forum Committee organised a panel
discussion - “The Way Forward amidst inflation.” The
panelists included eminent people from the world of
Finance and Economics such as Dr. Shubhada Rao - EVP
and Chief Economist, Yes Bank, Mr. S. Pattanaik - Director
of Economic Research, RBI, Mr. Mahesh Vyas - MD and
CEO, CMIE andMr. A. V. Rajwade - Consultant and Member
of Tarapore Committee for CAC. The event was a great
success with discussion on relevant contemporary issues
about how India is likely to respond to worldwide
recession and stimulus packages, and whether these
measures are sustainable. Exit strategies of countries,
infrastructure development in India in the near future, and
the government's role in balancing credit and liquidity
requirements and rising inflation were also considered. It
was an enriching experience bringing together the
knowledge and experience of stalwarts of the industry. It
was attended by the faculty members, participants of PGP1, EMP as well as some students of NMIMS. The event
was a great learning experience for the attendees!
