Schulich launches MBA in India

The Schulich School at Canada's York University has launched a new version of its MBA programme, half of which will be taught in India. The first intake of the programmewill be in January 2010.

The first year of the two-year programme will be taught at SPJIMR Mumbai and the second year at Schulich's main facility in Toronto. Faculty from Schulich will teach most of the courses in the first year of the programme and all the courses in the second year.

Schulich has had exchange programmes with top Indian MBA programmes for many years but the announcement of the new degree follows the recent opening up of the Indian higher education market to non-Indian institutions. The Schulich programme has received government approval from the All India Council for Technical Education, the national regulatory body governing school accreditation.

Schulich Dean Dezsö J. Horváth says the programme will be a real opportunity for Indian students to study a global business agenda. “It aims to attract the best and the brightest students from India and prepare them for global careers in India and abroad.”
