First Round Table Conference with IMC on role of women in family businessThe first round table conference on Family Business issues started on a vibrant note at IMC auditorium at Babubhai Chainani CommitteeRoom, 2nd Floor,IMCBuilding.

The keynote speaker was Ms. Deepali Goenka (Director, Welspun Retail Ltd.). The other Panel numbers were Ms. Pallavi Jha (CMD, Walchand Peoplefirst), Mr. Sanjay Jha (Executive Director, Walchand TalentFirst), Ms. Pilloo Aga (Director, GoldSeal Engineering Products Pvt. Ltd.), Mr. Cyrus Aga (Managing Director, Gold Seal Engineering Products Pvt. Ltd.), Priti Gupta (Executive Director, Anand Rathi Securities) and Mr. Tanil Kilachand (Co-Chairman, IMC ERTF). Prof. Parimal Merchant (Chairperson, Center for Family Managed Business) and Prof. Suraj P Sood (Joint Chairperson, Center for Family Managed Business) conducted the programme.

More than 60 participants from family businesses, academia and the corporate world participated in the programme. The theme was Contemporary Gender Situation in FMB. One of the glaring changes that has taken place in Indian socio-economic scenario is the increase in meaningful role and contribution of women in business, as professionals.

BusinessesThe round table started with the Welcome Address by Mr. Tanil Kilachand, Co-Chairman IMC ERTF. This was followed by insightful inputs by all panelists leading to an interactive session of two hours and ending with an interesting round of questions and answers. Few pertinent questions regarding remuneration of women and their ownership rights were discussed in an open atmosphere. A large number of participants were young scions of family businesses.

The programme ended with Prof. Sood giving the vote of thanks, laced withhumorand anecdotes.
