Entrepreneurship: Converting Dreams to Reality

Rajesh Panda, a 2000 SPJIMR PGDM alumnus and a Gold Medalist from 1996 Batch NIT (formerly RIC) Rourkela was Head-Asia Pacific of a top IT company when he decided to come back to India to set up “Corporate Gurukul” in 2008. Corporate Gurukul prepares undergraduates to be industry-ready by training them on industry-specific and company-specific skill sets in softskills, technical and business domains.

Corporate Gurukul, started with a Seed Capital for 4 lacs has come a long way since its inception. The ready endorsement of their curriculum by industry leaders such as Infosys, TCS, and L&T has put Rajesh in an expansion mode. By 2010, Corporate Gurukul plans to train 6000 undergraduates and achieve Rs 2.0 crores in turnover. He intends to extend its reach to 10 other centers across India, China, Australia, and Singapore in the next three years. This should not be too great a task for Rajesh whowas adjudged India's 4th Best NCC Cadet and felicitated by late Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi. Rajesh’s vision is to train the entire undergraduate community across the globe on industryreadiness.
