Eco Forum screens ‘Commanding Heights’
August 1-12, 2009

The Economic Forum Committee 2009-10 presented the documentary “Commanding Heights”. The series had three parts: Episode # 1 “The Battle of Ideas” screened on 1st August, Episode # 2 “The Agony of Reform” screened on 4th August and Episode # 3 “The New Rules of the Game” screened on 12th August.

Commanding Heights is a docu-drama which confronts head-on critical concerns and issues that have defined the wealth and fate of nations and shows how the battle over theworld economy will shape our lives in the 21st century! The movie takes us through World War 1 and the Great Depression right up to the Present Day World after the catastrophic events of 9/11. The movie then goes on to show the turning points of this century fromWorldWar II to The Cold War, from the rise and fall of communism to the shift towards free markets, from the rise of globalisation to the Asian crisis. The main objective of screening this documentary was to make all participants aware of the various events that shaped the global economy over the century. The participants lauded the feature for the learning they could take home.
