The top five teams will be invited to incubate and launch their enterprise
supported by a Rs. 4 Crore corpus.
The contest is open to individuals, entrepreneurs, working executives
and students of reputed business and technical institutions, across the
nation.
The list of innovations circulated earlier had names of states
with the innovations. The states indicated where the innovation originated.
The participants are free to choose any innovation and the name of the
state is irrelevant while making the choice.
SAAKAR - Registration Process
The registration/selection process for SAAKAR
will involve the following steps:
- Registration: Interested participants will form teams and select
a team leader who registers by sending a mail to saakar@spjimr.org.
The registration mail should contain the following details:
- Team Details
- Statement of Purpose (max 200 words)
- Contact details of the team leader
- Scanned copy of team leader's photo id card , this may include
- institute id in case of students OR
- PAN Card, Driving license, Company ID card or any other valid
ID proof, in case of professionals.
- Scanned copy of signed Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) attached
herewith as the innovations are content protected.
- Choice of three innovations that the team would be interested
to work upon and commercialize. This is to be given from the list
of innovations attached herewith.
- Following this, on the basis of team's preferences and other criteria,
the participating teams will be assigned projects. This will be done
on a first-cum-fist serve basis. The teams will be provided a link,
with a username and password which would provide full information on
the project.
- Participants will then have to make their final submissions by 6th
Feb'08. The proposal will typically comprise of the following:
- Business proposal
- Product (with/without possible value addition in product)
- Market analysis
- Financial analysis/ requirements
- Business concept
- Company structure
- Infrastructure requirement
- Plan of action
The submissions will have to be in either pdf OR word format, not
exceeding 4 MB. Format details: 1.5 line spacing, font: Times New
Roman, size 12, 1" margin all around, A4 page.
- The result will be declared on 9th February'08, wherein the top 10
teams will be invited to SPJIMR campus.
- On the basis of their submitted plan, the shortlisted teams will then
have to submit a presentation by 12th February'08.
- The final presentation will be held on 14th February'08 at SPJIMR
campus.
Prizes: The top 3 teams will be awarded cash prize of Rs.20, 000/-
each.

SAAKAR - Rules & Regulations
- The Contest will be open to individuals, entrepreneurs, working executives
and students of reputed businesses and technical institutions, across
the nation.
- There won't be any guidelines from us on the team size / constituency
etc.
- The teams can comprise of students across institutes.
- A maximum of only two participants per team will make the final presentations
at SPJIMR, Mumbai.
- Participants will be provided III AC train travel to Mumbai.
- The decision of the judges shall be binding and final.
- Organizers reserve the right to change any rule.
