SPJIMR Supply Chain Excellence Awards took place in the SP auditorium. It was a long and fulfilling day for all the teams and the participants. Six professional presentations on the hot topic of improving SCM practices in the industry were a real value adds for everyone present in the auditorium. The insights provided by distinguished jury members while scrutinizing the presentations were also very useful.

The event started right at 12:00 noon with the introductory address made by Joint Director Prof. Sunil Rai. Prof. Sesha Iyer then addressed the gathering about the emerging SCM practices in India.

The presentations started at 12:30 p.m. Each team was given 20 minutes to present and 10 minutes were reserved for the Jury to ask questions. Prof. G Raghuram IIM A headed the jury. The six teams, which were there to present on the final day, were selected after two elimination rounds.

The presentations continued for three hours with a one-hour lunch break in between. After the presentations, a panel discussion on the topic "Vision for Developing Logistics Solutions for India in the New Millennium" took place.

Panel was chaired by Prof. M. koragaonkar, Director General, NICMAR. Other participants were Mr. Niraj Ambani, Senior V.P. Reliance Logistics Ltd, Prof. G. Raghuram, Professor IIM Ahmedabad, Mr. Nishit Kumar, Head Awareness and Advocacy, Childline India Foundation and Mr. S. Harinarayan, Member, National Committee on Logistics Services CII. After the discussions it was the time for giving away the awards. First prize worth Rs. One Lakh went to a team from Tata Motors which presented on E- Sourcing innovations. The second prize was shared between Marico (e-procurement initiatives) and Tata Motors (Costing initiatives) for the second prize.

Prof. Sunil Rai was the Co-Chair and Dr. Sesha Iyer was the Head Coordinator of the event. The event organizers were SBU-OPS . Team comprised of Gaurav Bhargava, Anup Jha, Anubhav Kumar and Gopal Kartik.
