About the Centre

The Centre for IT (CIT) at SPJIMR was instituted in 1999. CIT engages in creation and delivery of knowledge pertaining to the use of IT in providing competitive edge to business by appropriate deployment of technology and best of clan practice in the field.

Philosophic Underpinnings

The guiding principle of activities at the Centre is:

• To influence practice in deployment of business smart IT solutions by resorting to "Integration" of IT enabled processes.
• "Implementation" of the same effectively and efficiently in realizing "Business Advantage".
  
  

The Centre undertakes the following activities:

SPJIMR IT Infrastructure: Maintenance and upgradation of IT infrastructure of the Institute that is built on 1GBPS Fibre Optics backbone supporting in excess of 2000 node points located at the sprawling campus of 40 acres. The IT Infrastructure team supports:

• Databases (Academic and Administration)
  
• IT enabled Training Processes (Simulations)
  
• Intranet, Internet and Messaging Services
  
• E-Learning Systems
  
• Video Conferencing Service
  
  

Training Labs : The Centre operates and supports computer labs for management simulation games (bay 3 & 4 and e-com lab), Oracle 10g, SQL Server, SAS, IBM Websphere and Rational Rose Tools.
