Industrial Visit to Hyderabad - 7th to 9th August, 2006

The second industrial visit to Hyderabad, for the participants of FMB 9 was conducted from 7th to 9th of August, 2006. The participants were accompanied by Prof. Suresh Advani, Chairperson - FMB, Prof V.K.Murti-Faculty, Marketing and Ms. Jayshree Iyer, Assistant Registrar, Centre for Family Managed Businesses providing structured guidance. The companies visited as per schedule Ravi Foods Limited, Sanghi Industries Limited, Granules India Limited and Hyderabad Industries Limited which covered a large spectrum of FMCG Industry, Pharmaceuticals Industry and Building Products Industry.

  Industrial Visit to HyderabadThe participants derived good insight into the manufacturing processes of all the companies and observed a sharp contrast in the working environment. They also had interactions with managers and directors at the companies. The township structure of Sanghi Industries has reinforced the principal of corporate social responsibility. The visit gave them the much needed exposure to how successful businesses are conducted, an insight into the people, operations and financial aspects of these businesses.

The participants, as per schedule, visited The Indian School of Business and interacted with the faculty of the department of Entrepreneurship. A Samagam with Mr. Davender Surana, Managing Director of Surana Udyog was also organized.

Industrial Visit to HyderabadThe participants learnt that vision and teamwork can create, build and achieve exponentially. There is no limit to success if management and employees work towards common goals. Another important learning from the visit was that one needs to constantly evolve and change. One needs to build a different business for a different future. Resistance to change with changing business and economic environment can be detrimental to one's business.
