About the Centre
The
Centre for Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC) was established
in the year 2001 with a view to mould management education in tune with
the Indian context. DOCC is a unique program developed to hone management
skills of future managers in social sectors and to create awareness about
the need to contribute to the society. At the same time DOCC aims to enhance
the managerial aspects of the social sector.
DOCC works closely with NGOs and corporates
by undertaking various consultancy and research assignments. It also works
as a medium between the Corporate and NGOs and strives to bring them together
in contributing to the society.
The Centre for DOCC has its origins in SPJIMR's
research project for ASSOCHAM, which addressed the issue of socio-economic
development of rural India. Today, DOCC is one of the more successful
teaching approaches, emulated by other similar initiatives.
Philosophy
The Centre was founded on the institute's philosophy
of'`Value based growth' and `influencing practice'. Through DOCC we aspire
to:
- Build the managerial potentials of the Institute's participants and
sensitize them to Indian ethos and culture,
- Act as a medium in creating a network between NGOs and the corporate
sector for sustained and enhanced impact of development processes in
society.
Our Objective
- To impart management education that aims to instill respect for values
in future managers.
- Add to the efficiency, effectiveness and structure of the NGO sector
processes by lending our management learning.
- We aim to involve, demonstrate and create awareness of corporate social
responsibility (CSR) in the corporate sector.
