The S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research and the ESB, Reutlingen University under the EU funded Centre for European Business Studies (CEBS), will have the Inaugural Conference of the Centre on November 26-27, 2010 at the S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. The Conference invites paper submissions and presentations on the theme ‘The Implications of the Indo-European Free Trade Agreement (FTA)’. The proposed FTA, launched in June 2007 following recommendations of the High Level Trade Group (HLTG) 2006 Report, is expected to be fully WTO compatible covering not only trade in goods and services but also investment and Intellectual Property Rights. The proposed India-EU FTA is of great significance to both India and the EU. The objective of this conference is to debate and discuss the various implications of such an FTA, thereby providing sufficient insights to policy makers, business entities and all other parties involved in facilitating the effective implementation of the agreement. The conference will bring together leading academicians, regulators and industry professionals from both India and the EU countries to explore current issues, challenges and opportunities in the proposed India-EU FTA.
Authors selected for paper presentation will be provided with accommodation on both the days of the conference. Expenses for travel from the participant’s institute to the venue (round trip airfare – economy class) will be reimbursed.
The jury will select one deserving paper presented at the conference for a Best Paper Award of Rs. 100,000.
