The APPM program's open architecture consists of 4 modules. The structure is flexible and lends itself to customization.

Module 1: Principles & Framework program

This module covers the overall Project Management perspective along with processes and knowledge areas. It is essentially based on Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK®) propounded by Project Management Institute, U.S.A. and is a recommended module for PMP® certification.

Duration:

5 days.

Objectives:

Establish a global framework based on understanding of PM terms and concepts Understand the purpose, inputs, outputs and tools and techniques of PM processes and knowledge areas Get insights into participant's areas of PM knowledge and interpersonal skills strength and gaps based on projects and organizational environment

Module 2: Leadership Teamwork & Communication

The module assesses the project leadership of the participants; helps them with development of general management skills in team development, communication and negotiation.

Duration:

3 days.

Objectives:

Understand challenges of the leadership role in Project Management and organizations Gain insights in managing people and on performance issues Develop introspective insights for self-development through self-assessment exercises Develop effective and efficient communication Negotiation of contract terms for scope, cost and schedule

Module 3: Cost & Risk Management and Control

The module offers an integrated approach to project selection, management of cost and risk issues during the project life cycle using modern tools and techniques.

Duration:

3 days.

Objectives:

Understand and apply modern project cost management techniques like cost estimation and budgeting Develop an integrated approach for monitoring and controlling project cost and schedule using Earned Value Management techniques Understand project risk management concepts; develop ability to identify, analyze and assess risk impact Prepare project risk monitoring, mitigation and control plans

Module 4: Managing Projects using CCPM & Microsoft Project

This module covers practical issues in planning and scheduling based on Dr. Goldratt's Theory of Constraints, Application of Critical Chain Project Management. It also covers comprehensive mapping of PM processes to Microsoft Project for advanced planning and control.

Duration:

3 days.

Objectives:

Understand project planning concepts & techniques including Critical Chain Project Management Understand and resolve resource loading issues and prepare schedules to take care of risks and uncertainities Create dynamic schedules and plans using effective heuristics Exploit the facilities of Microsoft Project from a managerial perspective
