A.

The program is more intensive than the 6 day Project Management: Principles and Framework program. It is spread over 15 days of classroom instruction and divided into four modules over 13 weeks.

The duration of the first module is 6 days consisting of 45 classroom hours. This module is similar in scope and content to the Project Management: Principles and Framework program. Three modules of 3, 4 and 4 days duration follow the first module.

The concepts of this program conform to PMBOK® (Project Management Body of Knowledge) 2004 of the Project Management Institute, USA. It includes detailed instruction in:

  • Self-assessment exercises for leadership and team management learning
  • Instruction in cost estimating techniques
  • Instruction in various financial criteria for selection of a project
  • Earned Value Management using a detailed hands-on exercise
  • Templates and checklists for project risk analysis
  • Demonstration of Decision Tree Analysis and "@Risk" Monte Carlo simulation techniques
  • A 2-day session with hands-on practice of using Microsoft Projects 2000 features

A.

The course conforms to PMBOK® 2000 of the Project Management Institute, USA. The domain instruction includes:

  • Classroom lectures using audio-visual aids and Power Point slides. Individual participants have access to a microphone for participation.
  • Pre-class literature made available in soft as well as hard copy. Quiz based on the learning material.
  • Group discussions
  • Case studies and participatory games
  • Computer simulation hands-on exercises
  • Post-class assignments, assessment and individual counselling based on the assignment
  • In-class quizzes

A.

S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has ranked consistently among the Top 10 Business Schools in India. All programs of the Institute are recognized across industry.

SPJIMR is a Registered Education Provider of the Project Management Institute (PMI, USA). For several defense and other turnkey projects in the US, Project Managers with a PMP® (Project Management Professional) certification from PMI is a mandatory requirement or a preferred qualification.

The Project Management: Principles and Framework program prepares the participant for PMP® certification.

The faculty consists of industry practitioners and faculty of the S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research with a solid track record in Project Management.

  The APPM (Masters Certificate in Project Management) program is a 4-module, 17-day program spread over 13 weeks.

The first module is conducted over 6 days at a stretch (Monday to Saturday). The subsequent modules (Modules 2 to 4) are conducted with a gap of approximately 4 weeks between two modules. The program hours are from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.

The size of the program has been restricted to a maximum of 30 participants.

  The program fee is Rs. 95,000(Rupees Ninety Five Thousand)

A participant who has enrolled for specific modules pays for the selected modules.

   
9. Go to top of pageDoes the Institute offer a discount to individuals or companies?
  Yes, the Institute offers a 10% discount on course fees for companies sponsoring 4 or more participants. Also, the Institute's alumni and participants from the social services sector can avail of a 10% discount on course fees.

  Only genuine cases will be considered.

  The S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research is in the process of establishing an online program shortly for the benefit of participants who cannot visit the Institute.
   
12. Go to top of pageWhat are the minimum educational and professional qualifications for the program?
  To be eligible for the program, you must be a graduate with a Bachelors Degree and a working professional with a minimum 5 years of project related experience. Alternatively, you must be a diploma holder with project related experience of 7 years.

  Upcoming programs are announced on the web site from time to time. Generally, the Institute holds this program every quarter.

  If you fulfil the eligibility criteria, download the registration form, fill it and courier or personally submit the completed application form along with a copy of your CV, degree certificate and payment in the form of a DD or a local cheque in favour of S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research, Mumbai. Alternatively, you may enroll online.

Please note that admission is subject to review of eligibility criteria by the faculty.

No, the Institute does not disseminate course material without program participation.
