‘Nightcrawlers’ Team wins Consilium at FMS Fiesta-2009

PGP1 participants Raman Agarwal and Ritika Varmani won the first prize, a cash award of Rs.30000, in the Mergers and Acquisitions case study at FMS. The team competed against 40 teams to qualify for the finals and beat the teamsfromIIM Calcutta,XIMB and FMS.

The case study involved evaluating the Bharti-MTN deal in terms of valuation and synergies and commenting on the reasons and consequences of the failure of the deal. A possible takeover target for Bharti Telecom was to be suggested and the team had to come up with the bid value and the deal structure.
