Prof. S K Palekar, the Chairperson of EMP, explained that the uniqueness of the programme is the partnership created between the Institute and the company in developing the company’s executives. The Institute not only wants to impart education to executives but also apply the knowledge to their own job. During the course, the participants are required to attempt and submit more than 100 different assignments and a major dissertation. Many worthwhile business projects in the past have come out of this approach and Prof. Palekar thanked the mentors for their tremendous contribution and involvement. The mentors will thus be making a contribution to their companies by developing the leadership pipeline. Each of these assignments is also checked by highly qualified faculty fromSPJIMR. This approach to executive education is called a contextual customization and ensures that the executives graduating not only have knowledge but also apply it to their job and are thus ready to make a business contribution. It concluded with sharing of experiences on the EMP Course by Kalpesh Ashar (Tech Mahindra), Amit Moza (HPCL, Meerut) and Prannay Pathak (L&T, Shipbuilding) of Batch 21 and V Hema (SBI, Chennai), Rahul Bhangale (Larsen & Toubro, EBG-Delhi) and Deepak Pedal (Ingenerate Technologies) of Batch 22.
