LST 2009 - ‘Expanding Reaches’

TSPJIMR organised the event “LOCK STOCK and TRADE. (LST) LST is an annual entrepreneurship event that aims to inspire the younger generation towards entrepreneurship. At this event, student teams representing the entrepreneur and investment bankers (or venture capitalists) presented select real life entrepreneurial business to the audience.

This event was held in partnership with five other B-Schools.Atotal of 17 teams, 11 fromSPJIMR and six from partner schools participated in the final event. It was special to have our alumnus Mr. Akhil Chaturvedi, Founder and CEO, Provogue (India) Ltd., as the Chief Guest. His defining message was sacrifice is an integral part of success.

Eminent entrepreneurs, VCs and businessmen who formed the jury panel were Vipul Mankad, President, Sidbi Ventures; Vinod Wadhwani, Director, Ambit Corporate Finance; Poyni Bhat, IIT B; Parag Rele, Founder, Triiton; Gautam Shiknis, Founder, Palador Pictures; Lindsay Clinton, Intellecap; Amol Palkar, Co-Founder, Cyan Leaf Advisors; Aditya Mishra, Co-Founder, HeadStart.

The event started with the lamp lighting ceremony by the Chief Guest and the jury. This was followed by an introduction and welcome address by Prof.M. S. Rao, Head Centre for Entrepreneurship, SPJIMR and an informative and intricate talk on the evolution of LST by Ms. Sunita, Sr. Director NEN.

LST generated much speculation and interest in the investors. Many strategieswere formed, lobbyingwas done and cartels constituted, producing completely surprising results that beat audience expectations.
