SPJIMR wins Research Award from IBM

S P Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai has been awarded the prestigious Shared University Research Award (SUR).This is a globally competitive award, the winners of which are selected academic institutions and universities from across the globe. IBM provides a limited number of awards every year at its discretion. Proposals are awarded after a multi-stage international evaluation process.

SPJIMR has won this award to support the Center for Service Management and Engineering which was founded in July, 2008.

About the Award

IBM SUR Awards are designed to establish and enhance Shared Collaborations with the Researchers of the Innovation Institutes across the globe.

Universities chosen for this Award are encouraged to collaborate with other Universities/Institutes in the pursuit of Research Excellence and in expediting the Results. One of the over-riding objectives is the increased collaborative research in areas important to IBM

Additionally, the SUR Awards program is designed to:

• Promote collaborative research projects that bring value to IBM and the technology community
  
• Increase access to and successful use of IBM technologies for research and in curriculum

Past winners of this award have included Georgia Inst. of Technology, Ohio State University and Politecnico di Torino, Italy.
