What is the LST?
Lock, Stock & Trade (LST) is an annual entrepreneurship event which aims to inspire the younger generation towards entrepreneurship. At LST the audience learn about diverse business opportunities, hear from leading entrepreneurs and financiers how to start and grow companies; and match their investment savvy against professionals in an investment game. The game provides opportunity for many a
player to bid trade and build their portfolio, and experience..the Dalal Street excitement.
- Will accommodation be provided for the participants?
Accommodation is provided for the participants who are not from Mumbai.
- How are the shares allotted to the bidders?
Shares are allocated to bidding investors through an electronic auction process - not all bids made will get shares allocated.
- How is the price of a share calculated after bidding?
After all the bids are made, the value of the shares is calculated based on "demand" - a combination of the bid prices and the number of shares bid for. The higher the demand, the higher the share value or opening price.
- How is an investor's portfolio calculated?
At the end of the trading sessions, the investors' portfolio values are calculated by multiplying the number of shares by their opening price plus any cash remaining in their accounts. The winning investor is the investor with the highest value of portfolio at the end of the day.
- How much money is allocated to invest in shares?
At registration, you are assigned an Investor ID and an electronic "Virtual
Trading Account" with Rs. 50,000 to purchase shares
- In how many companies can an investor invest?
There is no limitation on the number of companies to invest. One can invest on all the companies if desired.
- How do I choose my investments? Where do I get information to help me
decide?
a. Executive summaries in the booklet that has been provided.
b. Presentations
(Note: you will have to choose which ones to attend since companies are presenting in three parallel tracks)
c. "Street" gossip - hanging around the trading desk.!!
- What is the lowest price bid for a share?
The lowest price that can be bid for a share is Rs 100.
- What are the scenarios for disqualification of the bids?
Your bid may get disqualified in the following cases
i. Invalid Investor ID.
ii. Quote at below "Par Price" - Rs. 100.
iii. Multiple bids for the same company by an investor.
iv. Bidding amount is greater than the balance amount available in
the account.
- What happens if I do NOT get the allocation?
The unused cash is returned to your account, and will be included in the final
valuation of your portfolio.
