High Performance Organizations: Linking Strategy & Execution with Project Management

Today, Project Management is considered as not an isolated silo activity in an organization but a strategic tool to help firms manage their growth through projects. It has become complex because of large size high tech projects, a point of departure from PMBOK in a variety of challenging contexts of information technology services, hospitality etc… and also major challenges on softer aspects of project management such as managing a variety of contractors, client relationship, project leadership, risk management and above all management of projects in multicultural contexts

With a view to addressing a few of the above aspects of project management, SPJIMR centre for continuing Management Education (Project Management) had organized an interactive meet with Mr. Larry Bull, Director, Organization Products, Project Management Institute (PMI) in collaboration with PMI, Mumbai with senior project managers.

Mr. Larry Bull is an Industrial Engineer whose corporate career includes senior leadership roles as Director of Information Services and Chief Financial Planning Officer for CSX Transportation, a national rail transportation company, and Chief Financial Planning Officer for NovaCare, a national healthcare provider. Prior to joining PMI in 2004 to lead development and operation of OPM3 Product Suite, Larry directed his own management consulting enterprise specializing in business performance improvement and project leadership. Larry now directs development and delivery of all organizational products and services for PMI. He completed his MBA studies at Duquesne University and received his Masters in Human Performance Technology from Penn State University.
