Ehsaas

EhsaasThe Centre for Development of Corporate Citizenship (DOCC) has been actively involved in organizing Ehsaas every year since 2005. Ehsaas, as the name suggests stands for feelings, emotions and sensitivity. The aim is to develop a sense of belonging in the minds of these wonderful, extremely talented, special children and to give them a day of pure joy - a day when they just can't stop smiling! It was also an attempt to make the students at SPJIMR more sensitive to the challenges and triumphs of these children. This year, on the 16th of November, DOCC in collaboration with Leo club of Juhu, organized Ehsaas which was once again successful in bringing the differently-abled children and SPJIMR family together giving everyone a reason to smile.

EhsaasThe NGOs who participated in Ehsaas included PODS, Punarvas, Child Reach, Sangini, WITS, Banajee Industrial Home, Spastic Society, Aarushi, Disha Karnbadhir Vidyalaya, Rotract Sanskar, Kalyandeep and Sewa. The event had around 220 people from various NGOs participating which included 180 children.

The children from different NGOs put up various performances, showcasing their multitude of talents to an extremely encouraging and appreciative audience. The students of SPJIMR and Leo club volunteers had a wonderful time performing for the children. Performances like Magic by a child like them made the event even more special for these children. After the cultural performances, there was an evening of games, fun and frolic in store for them. Several games stalls had been put up by the Leo club and the SPJIMR participants took an active part in volunteering for these stalls. They took the opportunity to interact with the children to let them know how special they are for everyone. Fake currency had been issued to the children each time they played a game or won it. At the end of it all, they could exchange the currency for gifts which gave them a sense of purchasing something they desired with the money they earned. It was an evening of fun, entertainment and smiles and everyone left with a feeling of contentment.
